Dog lovers and their furry best friends recently turned a Buenos Aires park into something truly unforgettable. In Bosques de Palermo, nearly 2,400 golden retrievers and their owners gathered in what is being called the largest meetup of the breed on record! Event organizers dubbed it the “Golden Wave.”
The event was organized through social media by Argentine influencer Fausto Duperré, who has built a following posting about his own golden retriever, Oli. Participants came from all over Argentina to join the celebration with many dogs sporting festive outfits like Santa hats, scarves, soccer jerseys, and ribbons while owners enjoyed and took photos.
After hours of counting, organizers estimated that at least 2,397 golden retrievers were in attendance, surpassing the previous unofficial record of 1,685 goldens set in Vancouver, Canada. Organizers have submitted documentation to have the record recognized by Guinness World Records.
