The National Toy Hall of Fame just announced its finalists for 2025, and one of the most surprising nominees is… snow. Yep, the real stuff that falls from the sky could soon join toy icons in Rochester, New York.
Snow is up against some heavy-hitters, including Battleship, Catan, Connect Four, Spirograph, and Trivial Pursuit. Outdoor staples like scooters, slime, and cornhole also made the cut, while 90s icons Furby and Tickle Me Elmo face off. And of course, the Star Wars lightsaber.
Fans have until Sept. 24 to vote online at toyhalloffame.org. The top three will earn a spot on the “Player’s Choice” ballot, joining 22 other ballots from historians, educators, and toy experts. The winners will be announced in November at The Strong National Museum of Play.
Since 1998, 87 toys have been inducted, including last year’s honorees: My Little Pony, Transformers, and Phase 10.
So, will snowball fights finally get their place in toy history?
