(LEARFIELD) – There is optimism that the Bucks could see NBA All-Star Damian Lillard return to the lineup in the playoffs, but the team may have to make it to the second round.
Milwaukee plays at Indianapolis Saturday to open the postseason.
ESPN reports there is “optimism” that Lillard will be cleared to play soon.
Bucks coach Doc Rivers talked about what Damian Lillard can do on the practice floor right now.
So could Lillard be back for some of the playoffs next week?
Rivers said that they’ve had a lot of time to prepare to be without Damian Lillard and that’s good . March 18th was when the news came out of Lillard’s blood clot diagnosis.
He has been sidelined by a blood clot, but has been increasing basketball activities recently.
If the Bucks make it past the Pacers, they could face Cleveland or one of the teams now in the play-in tournament.
Playoff schedule set: The Bucks will open their playoff series with Indiana on Saturday with an 11:30 pre-game and noon tip-off.
Game 2 of the series will be Tuesday, April 22. Game 3 will be in Milwaukee on Friday, April 25. Game 4 will be in Milwaukee on Sunday, April 27. Games 5, 6 and 7, if necessary, will be Tuesday, April 29; Friday, May 2 and Sunday, May 4.
