Baileigh Sinaman-Daniel, a 22-year-old guard at Lesley University, made history as the first NCAA Division III women’s basketball player with one arm to score in a collegiate game! After being cut from her high school team senior year, Baileigh didn’t let rejection or being born with one arm stop her dream of playing basketball, a passion she’s had since childhood. After two tough days of self-doubt, Baileigh started emailing coaches from every division, eventually landing at Lesley University.
She made the historic shot from near the three-point line, with the ball snapping the net without hitting the rim. Her coach immediately called a timeout to mark the moment, and her teammates swarmed her to celebrate.
Known for her relentless work ethic, Baileigh’s success on the court has been driven by unique training techniques. This season, her team is having its best run in 14 years, and Baileigh’s made a lasting impact both on and off the court. She hopes her journey will inspire others facing challenges to never give up on their dreams.
