(WNFL) – The Wisconsin Badgers ran their record to 6-0 with an 86-70 win over the University of Central Florida on Friday in the 2024 Greenbrier Tip-Off.
John Tonje, Kamari McGee and Nolan Winter led the Badgers with 15, 14 and 13 points, respectively.
Winter also had a team-high 10 rebounds for the Badgers who led 46-31 at halftime.
The Badgers shot 48 percent from the floor including 10-of-31 on 3-point attempts while holding UCF to 33 percent shooting (21-of-62)
Jordan Ivy-Curry led UCF with 13 points.
The Badgers will play Pitt at 4:30 Sunday afternoon in the tournament title game.
- Wisconsin has now started its season 6-0 for the first time since opening the 2014-15 season with seven straight wins. That team went on to reach the 2015 National Championship Game.
- The Badgers have now scored at least 79 points in each of the first six games for the first time in school history.
- UW has now won eight of its last nine non-conference, November tournament games, going 3-0 in the 3-0 in the 2021 Maui Invitational, 2-1
- in the 2022 Battle 4 Atlantis and 2-0 in the 2023 Fort Myers Tip-Off.
