OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — As the holidays draw closer, the Salvation Army’s annual Red Kettle campaign is winding down — but there’s still time to help make a difference.
The Salvation Army of Oshkosh announced Friday its “Match Day Weekend” event will begin Dec. 21 and conclude Dec. 23, on this season’s last day of bell ringing. In the spirit of giving, three area foundations and companies have stepped up for community Match Day challenges.
- Thursday, Dec. 21: JJ Keller Foundation
- Friday, Dec. 22: Advanced Asbestos Removal of Oshkosh
- Saturday, Dec. 23: Wisconsin Public Service Foundation
Additionally, an anonymous donor is doubling all $20 bills dropped in Oshkosh, Winneconne or Omro kettles on Dec. 23, up to $10,000.
Combined with the WPS Foundation Match Day, this means every $20 bill donated will actually result in a $60 gift to the Salvation Army of Oshkosh.
We are immensely thankful to our match challenge partners for their unwavering support and generosity,” Major James Mungai said on behalf of the Salvation Army of Oshkosh. “Their commitment to our Match Day challenges will significantly impact our ability to meet the needs of those in our community who require our assistance the most. Their contributions will go a long way in spreading hope and joy this holiday season.
Along with making a monetary donation during Match Day Weekend, individuals looking to contribute are also encouraged to sign up as bell ringers at RegisterToRing.com.
