MILWAUKEE, WI (WTAQ-WRN) – A multimillion dollar package to renovate and maintain American Family Field was signed on Tuesday.
Governor Tony Evers said the 500 million dollar deal will keep the Brewers in Milwaukee until 2050.
“The Brewers are an essential part of not only Milwaukee, but our state culture and identity, but it’s also our economic success.”
The Brewers say AmFam Field needs extensive repairs to bring it up to the expectations of fans and make it safe.
The package cleared the State Legislature last month, after some pushback from critics who said the original plan cost taxpayers too much.
