GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Three Brown County nonprofits that focus on helping members of the community got some help from the county.
On Monday, the county presented ARPA grant checks to Golden House, Howe Community Resource Center, and We All Rise.
Golden House received $40,820 to purchase new washers and dryers for its residents.
Howe Community Resource Center received $24,912 for its Howe Hope program which provides positive experiences for children and their families.
And We All Rise received $77,503 for additional mental health tests and evaluations to better serve their clients, as well as youth and emergency services.
Executive director of We All Rise and therapist, Robin Scott, says all three of the organizations work hand-in-hand to help those in need, sometimes leaning on each other for support and services.
She says her organization is grateful for the funding that will address what their clients need right now.
“It’s huge, right? We’re serving some of the most marginalized people that have weathered the pandemic, they still have existing housing needs, education needs, economic needs, all those things and this funding will go really far in helping to serve them, getting some of the barriers out of the way so they can show up as their best and most thriving selves,” she said.
