WINNEBAGO COUNTY, WI (WTAQ) — The Wisconsin Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program enrollment week is coming up in Winnebago County.
WIC provides access to healthy foods, nutrition counseling, breastfeeding support, and referrals to other healthcare providers for low to moderate-income women and their families.
Winnebago County WIC reaches about 2,300 people per month. Belinda DeGoey, Winnebago County WIC Program Coordinator, says one of the most popular benefits of the program is the Fruit and Vegetable Dollar Benefit.
“They’ll get an amount on their benefit that they can use to buy fresh fruits and vegetables, canned fruits and vegetables, and frozen fruits and vegetables.” said DeGoey.
