WAUPACA COUNTY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — If you’re driving on Highway 10 in Waupaca County on Friday, back off the gas.
The Wisconsin State Patrol is planning aerial enforcement over the highway. Troopers say going up in an airplane makes it much easier to spot drivers who are speeding or driving aggressively.
When pilots spot violations, they communicate with officers on the ground to make traffic stops.
Friday’s enforcement in Waupaca County is sandwiched between plans for aerial enforcement over Interstate 39/90 in Dane County on Thursday and I-94 in Eau Claire County on Saturday and Sunday.
The State Patrol says it announces some aerial enforcement in advance so people can drive more safely, not to tip people off before writing tickets.
