GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Brown County leaders voted to expand broadband fiber infrastructure throughout the county.
The Brown County Administration Committee held a special meeting Thursday.
The committee provided initial approval to loan Bug Tussel $27 million to build out the network.
In return, the county says it will receive its investment back, plus $19 million in interest.
Cellcom, TDS and Spectrum are against the project. In the meeting, company representatives mentioned the redundancy of service as a top concern.
No citizens spoke at the meeting.
