Championship games are set in Divisions 3 and 4 at the 107th W.I.A.A. Boys State Basketball Tournament at the Kohl Center in Madison.
In Division 3, the Brillion Lions will play for the gold ball after holding off Lakeside Lutheran in a thriller, 57-55. Jeremy Lorenz led the Lions with 25 points and 10 rebounds with Grady Geiger adding 13. Brillion improves to 24-1 and they will meet West Salem in the title game. West Salem(28-1) D had five players in double figures in a 93-65 rout of the Milwaukee Academy of Science. These two met in the semifinals a year ago with West Salem advancing only to finish second.
In Division 4, Menasha St. Mary Catholic was knocked out by Kenosha St. Joseph 83-72 behind a state record smashing performance. Eric Kenesie poured in a single game tournament record 51 points. He was 15 of 21 from the floor with 5 three point hits in six tries and went 16 of 19 from the free throw line. Kenesie eclipsed the record of John Diener of Cedarburg who scored 46 at the Kohl Center in 2017. Daniel Griffith led the Zephyrs with 24 points as they finished 26-3. St. Joseph will face Luther in the title game, a 79-51 winner over Whitehall.
