The Green Bay Phoenix have found their man. Athletic Director Josh Moon announced on Tuesday Green Bay has hired Sundance Wicks to become the 9th Men’s Head Coach in program history. Wicks is familiar with Moon having played and coached under him while they were together at Northern State in South Dakota. For the past three years, the Wyoming native has been an assistant coach at the University of Wyoming. Wicks has two years of Head Coaching experience at the Division II level with Missouri Western. He has also assisted at the DI level with stops at Colorado, Northern Illinois and San Francisco. Wicks also helped establish the Impact Academy, a basketball training center in Las Vegas where he worked with several NBA players. Know for his energetic style and comical sense of humor, Wicks will take over a program coming off it’s worst season in history. Green Bay finished 3-29 this past season, leading to Moon’s mid-season dismissal of Will Ryan after two and a half years. Wicks is expected to be introduced at a news conference next week.
