(WTAQ) — The National Weather Service is warning northeast Wisconsin about a storm that will see lasting effects until Friday.
Meteorologist Roy Eckbert says the Green Bay and Appleton area could see as much as 8 inches of snow, with the Oshkosh area seeing 2-5 inches of snow in the next few days.
Road conditions are expected to be less than ideal Wednesday-Friday, as there will be strong winds at times that may produce blowing snow.
Paula Van De Leygraaf, Director of Emergency Management for Outagamie County, says it’s important to leave extra time when traveling, and check the weather before you leave so you’re aware of conditions.
She also shared a list of a few good items to keep in your vehicle.
“An extra phone charger, a shovel, and sand incase you get stuck off the road or on some ice that you cant get out of,” said Van De Leygraaf. “It’s always nice to have blankets, hats, mittens, things like that in case you get stranded as well.”
Non-perishable food items like granola bars can be helpful too.
Drivers should inform somebody about where they’re going and the route they plan to take just incase of an emergency.
