OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Cooperative Educational Service Agency in Oshkosh, or CESA 6, is helping high school students get ready for their future. CESA 6 has one of the largest youth apprenticeship programs in Wisconsin, which helps high school students explore a career through hands-on experience.
Youth Apprenticeship is a one or two year program in which students may be able to earn a wage and/or high school or college credit by working in fields related to agriculture, biotechnology, construction, finance, healthcare, industrial and manufacturing, information technology, service, transportation, utilities, and more.
“I have been able to educate myself and have a good electrical background,” said Abigail Robbins; a student from Little Chute Careers Pathway Academy who participates in the Youth Apprenticeship program. “which helped me feel really confident about electrical engineering as something I would really enjoy.”
CESA 6 is hosting an informational webinar about the Youth Apprenticeship program on December 7 from 5:30 – 6 p.m. Students in grades 10-12 are invited to register online.
