GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Some early voters are celebrating the extended voting hours as election day comes closer.
This was followed by residents walking to the polls together to cast their early vote.
One of the organizers spoke on why the event, and others like it, are so important.
“Really it’s just expanding access to the ballot for everybody,” said Wisconsin Conservation Voters organizer Guillermo Gomez. “Y’know, I think it’s important because everybody has the right to vote, and we want to make sure everybody gets out and does it. And if our org or anybody else is able to encourage even one or two people to come out and votes, that’s a victory.”
Election day for the primaries in Wisconsin is Tuesday, Aug. 9.
