KIEL, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Another day, another bomb threat at Kiel Middle School.
The school has been at the center of a controversy for two weeks after launching an investigation into students allegedly using non-preferred gender pronouns to refer to another student.
Police say the threat was sent over email. It made reference to the investigation.
No one is at the school building, or any building in the district. Classes were previously scheduled to be held virtually because of the threats. A school board meeting was postponed from Monday to Wednesday and held virtually because of the threats.
Meanwhile, the city has canceled its Memorial Day parade, citing the security concerns.
The Wisconsin Department of Justice, along with the Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office and Kiel Fire Department are helping police investigate the threats.
Police say no further information will be released.
