Game 3 went right to the buzzer but the Milwaukee Bucks fended off the Boston Celtics Saturday at Fiserv Forum 103-101 and now look to take control of the Eastern Conference semifinal series hosting game four at home Monday night.
Giannis Antetokounmpo poured in 42 points and Jrue Holiday added 25 including a floater in the lane in the closing seconds to give Milwaukee a 103-100 lead. This after outscoring Boston 34-17 in the third quarter to lead by as many as 14 before the Celtics rallied. The frantic finish was set up when Holiday fouled Marcus Smart at the top of the arc with :04 left. Smart continued to extend his arms up to try and launch a three point shot but was ruled to have been fouled on the floor, giving him only two free throws. He made the first and intentionally missed the second which led to a series of tip in attempts by Boston. Al Horford finally tapped it in but only after the backboard lit up red and the horn sounded. Jaylen Brown led Boston with 27, Horford finished with 22 and Jayson Tatum struggled with only 10 on 4 of 19 shooting.
The Bucks now hold a 2-1 series lead and will try and grab a stranglehold on the series with another win at Fiserv. Game 4 pre-game coverage begins at 6:00 PM with a 6:30 PM tip on WNFL.
