APPLETON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Hundreds of new teddy bears are seeking new homes in the Fox Valley.
Sono-Health and Bears for Humanity donated 1,500 global organic textile standard teddy bears to the Partnership Community Health Center.
The teddy bears will be given to children at free community-led COVID-19 vaccination clinics and other outreach events.
The mission is to provide hypoallergenic, eco-friendly and non-toxic plush toys to children in need.
“They are sustainable ecofriendly bears that are made in house at a facility in California by low-income people who are job training and really giving back to the community,” said Trish Sarvela, development director at Partnership Community Health Center. “This is huge for us, our mission is to make a difference in the community and we really feel like these bears will be an extension of that so people can feel that they’re somebody else looking out for them, someone who cares.”
This is the first time these teddy bears have come to Wisconsin.
