STURGEON BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Several departments are battling a fire in downtown Sturgeon Bay.
The blaze broke out in the historic building on 3rd Avenue, home to Butch’s Bar and some apartment units above, early this morning.
Firefighters say one person was taken to the hospital. Their condition is unknown. There is no word on how the fire started.
The Sturgeon Bay Police say there are 20 rooms above Butch’s, nine of which are currently occupied. Police say contact has been made with some of those occupants but not all.
The job of the investigating how the fire started is being complicated by the very cold conditions.
