MADISON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The office of Green Lake County coroner is open for the second time in less than a year.
Gov. Tony Evers’ office says the position is open following the death of Dan Krieser, who died in November. Krieser, 54, was appointed coroner less than three months earlier.
“Dan was selected to fill the role of Green Lake County Coroner just a few short months ago, and he was chosen for his apparent professionalism and expertise in his field,” Evers said in a news release. “The state of Wisconsin is grateful for his service, and we extend our deepest sympathies to his family, friends, and colleagues as they continue to mourn his loss.”
Krieser succeeded Dr. John Willett, who resigned in May.
Those interested in applying for the position can learn more on Evers’ website. The application deadline is Jan. 28.
The new coroner will serve the remainder of a term ending Jan. 1, 2023.
