GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) — The Walnut Street Bridge in Green Bay will soon be the Bart Starr Memorial Bridge
A ceremony will be held Saturday October 23rd to commemorate the renaming of the bridge in downtown Green Bay.
Green Bay Alderperson Mark Steuer says Cherry Starr, Bart Starr Jr, Mark Murphy, and state and local lawmakers will be on hand. Steuer, who came up with the renaming idea, will act as emcee of the ceremony.
The ceremony, at 11 a.m., is scheduled for the day before the Washington Football Team takes on the Packers at Lambeau Field.
At Lambeau Field in late July, Governor Tony Evers signed a bill into law to rename the bridge.
