GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A truckload of items in Green Bay will make a difference for Afghan refugees.
Our Savior Lutheran Church organized a way for the community to bring aid and supplies to the Afghan families currently at Fort McCoy.
Over the past week or so, community members nearly packed a truck with donated supplies like toiletries, diapers, clothing, and bedding.
U and I Movers of Green Bay supplied the truck.
On Monday, the truck drove to Fort McCoy to deliver the supplies.
Associate pastor, Richard Schultz, expressed his gratitude to all those who donated to the cause, dubbed Operation Wisconsin Joy.
“Just thank you, Green Bay. Thank you for responding in such a positive way for these people. We pray that the joy they receive in these items is persistent, past their time in that place and thank you,” he said.
