GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A Packers player is ‘Making A Difference’ for children in need.
Running back Aaron Jones kicked off his “Yards for Shoes” campaign Tuesday. He made the announcement during a visit to the Boys & Girls Club of Green Bay.
This is the second year for the campaign. Cousins Subs is partnering with Jones.
For every rushing yard he gains this season, one pair of Adidas shoes will be donated to a Wisconsin child who needs them.
“It gives me butterflies,” Jones said. “It does a lot for me to see some kids who may not get a new pair of shoes for a while, or some kids didn’t even know what size they wore. They’re wearing too big shoes, or they might be wearing their sibling’s shoes. So just to see the smile on their face or their family, their parents coming up and saying ‘thank you,’ it’s huge for me.”
The goal is to donate 1,000 pairs of shoes.
