STURGEON BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — An increase in COVID-19 cases has led Door County Medical Center to put visitor restrictions into place.
Beginning Tuesday, the following changes will be in effect at Door County Medical Center facilities:
Skilled nursing facility
- Visitors are allowed with restrictions and should contact the facility for current guidelines.
Hospital/clinic
- Adult patients may have one (1) visitor at a time who is required to be in the patient room at all times.
- Pediatric patients under the age of 18 may have two (2) parents or guardians present who are required to be in th patient room at all times.
- Patients who have or may have COVID-19 may not have visitors. The only exception is for pediatric patients. Special arrangements may be made case-by-case by the care team.
- Visitors under 12 years old are not permitted.
Visitors are expected to do the following:
- Wear a face mask that covers the nose and mouth at all times.
- Use hand sanitizer to clean hands enter facilities, a patient room and prior to leaving the room.
- Remain in a patient room or in a space designated by staff.
- Avoid congregating with other visitors/support people in waiting rooms.
In addition, visitors who have COVID-19, experience symptoms or may have been exposed to the virus are not allowed.
