MADISON, WI (WTAQ) — Democratic Governor Tony Evers is running for a second term.
Evers made the announcement on Twitter.
Holy mackerel! Tonight, I made it official: I’m running again to make sure Wisconsin bounces back and build on the success we’ve already achieved together.
Are you ready to be a founding member of our campaign?

“We’ve accomplished a lot in the last few years, but we’re just getting started,” Evers said in a statement. “We have more work to do, together. This is the moment where we can choose to fix the big problems in Wisconsin and bounce back stronger than ever before. That means doing what’s best for our kids, creating good-paying jobs, fixing our infrastructure, supporting small businesses, and making sure everyone has access to quality, affordable healthcare—all the things we want for our state.”
Evers’ first three years in office have been marked, in large part, by clashes with the GOP-led state legislature.
The announcement comes just days after Evers made several campaign related hires.
