(WNFL) – The Milwaukee Brewers slide continued Friday night at Milwaukee as the team fell to the Atlanta Braves 6-3.
The Brewers’ only lead in the game came in the second inning when Luis Urias singled home Avisail Garcia.
After that, it was pretty much all Braves.
The Braves went ahead 2-1 in the third on a single to center by Austin Riley that scored Ehire Adrianza and Marcell Ozuna.
Ozuna and Ozzie Albies both homered in the fifth inning to make it 4-1. In the seventh, it became 5-1 when Freddie Freeman scored on a bunt by Dansby Swanson and 6-1 in eighth on a run-scoring single by Ender Inciarte.
The Brewers made it look a bit closer in the ninth inning on solo home runs by Urias and Manny Pina.
Drew Smyly got the win for the Braves, pitching 6 innings and allowing just 1 run on 4 hits and 1 walk.
Adrian Houser took the loss for the Brewers to fall to 3-4. He allowed 2 runs on 2 hits and 5 walks.
Eric Lauer followed and gave up 3 runs on 4 hits in 3 innings.
Josh Lindblom allowed the final Braves run to score in the eighth.
The Brewers and Braves face off again tonight. It’s a 5:35 pre-game on 1360 and 97.5 WTAQ.
