GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – A restaurant chain with several locations around the Green Bay area is throwing a Hail Mary in hopes of convincing Aaron Rodgers to stay in the neighborhood.
Mr Brews Taphouse is making an offer to the disgruntled Packers quarterback in hopes of keeping him around.
“We refuse to stand by idly and have this potential disaster unfold, alright?” said COO Mark Leach. “We’re certainly not in the position to re-negotiate his contract, but we certainly can offer him and his fiance a delicious meal and great variety of craft brews whenever they’d like…We want Aaron Rodgers to know the community loves him, and we’re not quite ready to see him go yet. If he isn’t happy, and we say get hoppy and come pour one out with us for life, if that’s what it takes for you to stay.”
Leach says most of their pubs are in Wisconsin, and especially during football season, they’re typically packed with fans sporting the Green and Gold.
“We’re excited to support him. We’re a small brand, but the predominant amount of our restaurants are in Wisconsin so we we definitely feel some affinity with Mister Rogers for sure,” Leach told WTAQ News. “We’re encouraging Packer fans to get united…There’s a lot of people out there that would love to see Aaron Rodgers, #12, stick around, in addition to having a lot more life. I mean, if you look at Tom Brady and longevity that he’s had.”
Leach isn’t sure whether Rodgers will accept their offer, but says either way, the opportunity for people to re-gather for the 2021 football season is healthy for rebuilding business and relationships.
