(METRO) CHICAGO – Yu Darvish took a no-hitter into the seventh inning as the Cubs doubled up the Brewers 4-2 in Chicago.
Justin Smoak broke up the bid for Milwaukee with a one-out solo homer in the seventh.
Darvish allowed just the one hit and struck out 11 in seven innings of work for his third win.
Brewers manager Craig Counsell said Darvish was impressive.
Kyle Schwarber homered and Ian Happ and David Bote also had run-scoring hits for the Cubs, who have won three in-a-row and nine of their last 10 games.
Brett Anderson gave up two runs over four-and-a-third innings for Milwaukee, which has lost five-of-seven.
Despite the slump, Counsell said there will be no pushing of the panic button.
The two teams will meet again today.
