DE PERE, WI (WTAQ) — De Pere citizens will be able to make their voice heard on race and inclusivity issues in an anonymous survey just launched by the city.
The new Community Equity and Inclusion Survey asks residents of all backgrounds about safety, fairness, and how welcome they feel in their communities. City Administrator Larry Delo says it’s not that they think there’s a racism problem in town.
“We try to be proactive,” Delo told WTAQ. “We try to reach out to our community when there is a hot button issue in the community or in the region.”
Delo says the city will take feedback from the survey.
“Our goal is really to look at the results we receive and identify if there’s something we think we can maybe improve on,” he said.
The survey is being provided to the city at no cost by Palco, a Madison-based company that owns a platform designed to allow residents direct input on local decisions.
A link to the survey can be found on the city’s website.
