BELLEVUE, WI (WTAQ) - The Brown County Sheriff's Department says the driver of a car that struck a survey crew worker on the ramp from Highway 172 to Interstate 43 will not be ticketed.

The crash took place Monday morning. A 64-year-old Hilbert man was working for a private company based in Appleton was rushed to the hospital after the crash.

Authorities say his condition is improving.

Based on witness statements and physical evidence, sheriff's officials say the 20-year-old New Franken man that was driving wasn't speeding, was attentive and could not have avoided the worker.

There were no devices to warn drivers of the workers on the curve ahead of time. The worker was wearing high-visibility clothes at the time.
