MARINETTE, WI (WTAQ) - The CEO of Marinette Marine says his company is planning to hire 200 workers over the next six months.

Chuck Goddard says Marinette Marine will hire 100 skilled laborers and 100 entry level workers to undergo training to replace those retiring.

Currently, the boat manufacturer employs 1,400 people.

This comes just a day after the U.S. Navy modified a contract with Lockheed-Martin to add funding to build two more Littoral Combat Ships. It's part of the current 10-ship, multi-billion dollar contract.
