APPLETON, WI (WTAQ) - Two wanted felons were arrested overnight in Appleton after one tried to escape and the other caused a standoff.
Appleton police say they were alerted about the two men at a home in the 1700 block of N. Linwood Avenue.
When officers arrived at the house on Friday around 7:30 p.m., one of the men jumped from the second floor into the backyard. Because he jumped, the man broke his leg. His was taken into custody and transported to a local hospital.
Investigators say the second person hid inside the home, allegedly armed with a handgun. The Appleton PD's SWAT Team was called in as several nearby streets had to be blocked off.
After a nearly 10 hour standoff, SWAT members located the man hiding in the attic. He was arrested without incident.
31-year-old Koy A. Kennedy and 29-year-old Christopher L. Fields were identified as the men arrested. Both are being held in the Outagamie County Jail on outstanding warrants. The investigation is ongoing.
