Blue Jays quiet Brewers

by

Celebrating Canada Day, the Toronto Blue Jays defeated the Milwaukee Brewers 4-1 Tuesday at Rogers Centre in Toronto.  Drew Hutchison and the Blue Jay bullpen held the Brewers to just four hits. Hutchison worked seven innings, allowing three with 10 strikeouts.  Ryan Braun produced the only run with an RBI double in the 5th.  Marco Estrada took the loss, going six innings, allowing two runs on six hits.  Both runs came via the long ball.  Jose Bautista returned from two weeks on the disabled list with a first inning solo shot.  Colby Rasmus hit a solo homer in the 4th.  Rob Wooten gave up the final two runs on three hits in the bottom of the 8th.   Milwaukee (51-34) still leads the division by six and a half games and they'll try to avoid their first sweep of the year, finishing the two game set Wednesday afternoon with Wily Peralta facing J.A. Happ.  Pre-game coverage begins at 11:00 AM on WTAQ.
