It may seem like an unlikely pairing, but Celine Dion and Ne-Yo have teamed up to create an Olympic anthem with their new duet, "Incredible."

The 45-year-old singer said it was her son, 13-year-old René-Charles , who convinced her that she had to sing with the R&B singer, despite the fact that Ne-Yo had written songs for Celine previously.

“Ne-Yo, among other artists, gave me the chance to still be the best of myself with a little bit of tweaking the sound, on a modern approach,” Celine said on Thursday's Good Morning America .

Working with an accomplished artist like Celine would be understandably daunting for many singers, and Ne-Yo is no different. "Once I got over the initial shock of the whole duet scenario, I’ll say there were times where I was kind of battling with myself," he told GMA special correspondent Cameron Mathison . "There were one or two takes where there was something that I was looking for that wasn’t there. But in the back of my mind, I’m like, 'Do I critique Celine Dion?'"

Ne-Yo eventually mustered the courage to guide Celine to get the song perfect.  The two shot the music video for "Incredible" last Saturday in Los Angeles.  They'll also watch stateside as the song's played during the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi. Celine is honored that she can again inspire athletes during their biggest moment.

"For me, in the past, I remember some athletes coming to me saying that, for example, ‘Love Can Move Mountains,’ was their theme song before they were going to do the big jump at the Olympics," Dion said, referring to her 1992 single. "Ne-Yo had a vision when he wrote this song. And when I heard Ne-Yo’s song for the first time, that piano line, and sang, ‘The whole world is watching us now,’ I said to myself, ‘This is my new Olympic song.’”
