Brewers Zach Duke

(WNFL) - Veteran left-handed pitcher Zach Duke has signed a minor league contract with the Milwaukee Brewers, with a chance to make the big club at Spring Training.  The 30-year-old Duke was a starter for Pittsburgh, where he went 45-and-70 from 2005-through-2010.  He then pitched for Arizona in 2011 and Washington in 2012.  Last season, Duke was mainly a reliever, starting just one game in 26 appearances for the Nationals and Cincinnati.  He went 1-and-2 on the year with an E-R-A of just over six.  For his nine-year career, Duke is 50-and-76 with a four-point-five-seven E-R-A.  He started 169 games among 215 total appearances.
