The Green Bay Womens Basketball team didn't look so pretty in pink, falling to Youngstown State 72-63 in their annual Pinkzone game Sunday afternoon at the Kress Center. The loss drops the Phoenix to 9-3 in the Horizon League, 16-8 overall and now they share first place in the conference with not only the Penguins, but Wright State as well. Green Bay led by three at the half but Youngstown put on a burst to grab the lead and another second half run helped put the game away. Kaili Luken led Green Bay with 13 points, Breannah Ranger added 12 and Tesha Buck scored 11. The Phoenix travel to Wright State for a critical conference showdown on Thursday night.
Donning pink uniforms for the contest, the Phoenix and their fans helped raise over $14,000.00 for area breast cancer related charities.
