CAMERON, Wis. (WXCE) -- A deputy sheriff was arrested Thursday for domestic abuse.
The Barron County Sheriff's Department was advised at 8:04 a.m. of a subject on 19th Street, Cameron that had thoughts of harming himself. Deputies from the Barron County Sheriff's Department responded to the scene.
Upon arrival, it was discovered that a domestic abuse situation had occurred at the residence. Due to the fact that the owner of the residence is a deputy with the Barron County Sheriff's Department, the Rusk County Sheriff's Office was called in to handle the investigation.
31-year-old Jason Hickok was taken into custody and is being held in the Rusk County Jail on charges of criminal damage to property, disorderly conduct, domestic abuse and false imprisonment. Hickok will be held until Monday when formal charges will be brought forward by the Barron County District Attorney's Office.
Jason Hickok is a 5-year veteran of the Barron County Sheriff's Department and is on administrative leave.
This incident remains under investigation by the Rusk County Sheriff's Office.
