Clayton Kershaw showed why he's the reigning National League Cy Young winner. After giving up a Ryan Braun RBI single in the first, Kershaw rolled through 8 innings, allowing just six hits to reach 14-2 on the season as the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Brewers 5-1 at Miller Park Sunday afternoon. Jimmy Nelson took the loss for the Brewers, giving up just two runs through six innings. Marco Estrada surrendured two runs in the 8th. Milwaukee hurt themselves with several base running mistakes. Nelson was thrown out moving from second to third on a ground out, Ryan Braun was caught stealing and Rickie Weeks was doubled off third racing for home on a squeeze bunt that was popped up and Kershaw made a diving catch before the relay to third. The Brewers (65-53) still took four out of six against the two contending teams in the NL West on the homestand and they have a two game lead on St. Louis in the Central. It's off to Chicago for a four game series at Wrigley Field against the Cubs with Yovani Gallardo on the mound against Jake Airetta in the series opener. Pre-game coverage begins at 6:30 PM on WTAQ.
