WAUKESHA, Wis (WSAU-Wheeler News) Two 12-year-old girls charged in the Waukesha "Slender Man" stabbings return to court this morning. A judge will consider the prosecution's request for another mental exam for Morgan Geyser. Two previous exams found that she was not competent to stand trial. Prosecutors plan to challenge those conclusions, or seek more information to determine if Geyser might try an insanity defense.
Meanwhile, an attorney for the other suspect -- Anissa Weier -- wants to see Geyser's mental health records, saying they're relevant and necessary for Weier's defense. Geyser and Weier are both charged as adults with attempted homicide. They allegedly stabbing a 12-year-old classmate 19 times at a sleep-over in late May, in apparent allegiance to the fictional online horror character Slender Man.
The victim continues to recover at home.
Attorneys for both Geyser and Weier have said they want the cases transferred to juvenile court, but no hearings have been set on that yet.
