GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) - Police in Green Bay are investigating an unusual burglary tied to Craigslist.
According to police, two women stole over $4,000 worth of property from a home in the 700 block of Kellogg Street.
The victim had placed an ad on Craigslist Friday looking to get rid of a few items. The victim placed those things on the curb and they were picked up.
But the next day, the victim left her house. When she returned, she found that the house had been ransacked. Police say a neighbor confronted the burglars, who said they were there to get items listed in the ad. They did not have permission to go into the house, police say.
The burglars took furniture, a child’s bed, a tricycle, a TV and toys, among other items.
The burglars were described as two white women, possibly mother and daughter. The older woman was described as being in her mid-40s, with long, light hair in a pony tail. She was described as having crooked teeth.
The younger woman was described as being in her 20s. She was about 5'6" with a thin build, lighter brown shoulder-length hair, and was wearing glasses.
The two were seen driving an older dark Chevrolet pickup truck that did not have a cap.
