Brewers finish with loss

The Milwaukee Brewers fell to the New York Mets at Citi Field Sunday 3-2 in the final game of the regular season.  The Mets scored twice in the bottom of the 8th thanks to a pair of Milwaukee errors.  Marco Estrada gave up a run in the first but pitched very well, going seven innings, giving up just the one run on two hits without a walk and eight strikeouts.  Brandon Kintzler took the loss as Eric Young Jr. delivered the go ahead run scoring single.  Young also stole two bases to finish ahead of Jean Segura for the National League stolen base crown with 46.   Segura missed nearly the final week of the season because of an injury.   The Brewers finished 74-88, fourth in the NL Central and 21 games behind the division champion St. Louis Cardinals.   Manager Ron Roenicke's third season was filled with injuries, Corey Hart never did get on the field, and controversy with Ryan Braun's suspension over performance enhancing drug use.   The Brewers did finish one game above .500 without Braun and Roenicke felt his team played competitive baseball throughout the second half of the season, winning five of their last seven series, many against playoff contending teams.
