TOWN OF MENASHA, WI (WTAQ) - An Appleton woman is facing multiple charges after allegedly driving drunk with a child in her car.
Town of Menasha police says it happened Sunday evening, when the 44-year-old woman tried to drive away from a crash scene near South Oneida Street and West Wilson Avenue.
Authorities say the woman had a child in a car seat in the back, and initially gave officers a false name when asked. She appeared to be under the influence and was asked to perform field sobriety tests.
The woman was taken into custody for OWI and brought to a hospital for a blood draw.
While en route to the hospital, the woman continuously yelled and swore at the cops. At the hospital, a Neenah officer and hospital security guard were asked to stand by due to her behavior. She began spitting at them, as well as other people in the hospital.
The woman was issued traffic citations for hit and run, inattentive driving and operating after revocation. She was taken into custody for 3rd offense OWI (Felony for children in car at the time); Disorderly Conduct, Resisting Arrest, Discharging Bodily Fluids at a Public Safety Officer (Felony) and a probation hold.
She is being held at the Winnebago County Jail.
