ANTIGO, Wis. (WSAU) - Authorities around the state of Wisconsin are on the lookout for a man who is a former prisoner on probation that allegedly threatened to shoot police officers.
54-year-old John Shomo lives in Milwaukee, but used to live in the Antigo area. Langlade County Sheriff’s Department deputies were told Shomo now has several weapons, which he’s not supposed to have as a convicted felon. The weapons include a sawed off shotgun, a .308 rifle, and a pistol.
Probation agents found that both of his vehicles are missing from his Milwaukee residence. The 1997 Oldsmobile Bravado SUV and a 1996 Dodge Ram pickup are both missing.
Shomo was just let out of prison in April, and is supposed to be on extended supervision now.
Anyone that knows information about the whereabouts of John Shomo is encouraged to contact the nearest law enforcement agency, and to not approach him since he is presumed armed and dangerous.
Shomo is a white male with a receding hairline and along grey beard. He is 5’- 9” tall and about 230 pounds.
1997 Oldsmobile Bravado may have Wisconsin temporary license plate K1706B or 989-VPU. The 1996 Red Dodge Ram pickup may have license plate HE2477.
