MILWAUKEE, WI (WTAQ) - A spinal surgeon from Milwaukee is due in federal court next Thursday on charges that he falsely billed insurance companies over $265,000.
A federal grand jury indicted 44-year-old Doctor Cully White on 13 counts of health care fraud.
According to the indictment, White operated a neuro-surgery business in Milwaukee. He allegedly recruited another doctor in 2010, who falsely claimed that he conducted nerve monitoring during White’s surgeries.
Prosecutors said the doctor hired by White had no training or experience in nerve monitoring, he filed false activity reports so White could get the insurance reimbursements.
The doctor reportedly got $150 for each report he wrote.
