GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) - It makes for some interesting bedtime conversations.
Running backs Eddie Lacy and Johnathan Franklin are friends, roommates, teammates – and competitors for a starting job.
Both were big-time ground gainers in college last season, with Lacy topping 1,300 yards for NCAA National Champion Alabama and Franklin leading UCLA with 1,732.
Each is trying to impress the coaching staff as much as possible during this weekend’s rookie camp.
The Packers are hoping at least one of them takes over since the team has been winning without much of a running game.
No back has topped 100 yards in the last 43 games and Green Bay has just 12 rushing touchdowns in the last three seasons, the worst mark in the NFL.
