MADISON, WI (WTAQ) - A former fugitive has agreed to return to Chicago to face charges, after he was arrested in Madison last Thursday in a day-long manhunt.
33-year-old Paris Poe waived his right to an extradition hearing Monday in Dane County Circuit Court. He was wanted for violating the terms of his parole in an armed robbery case, and he’s a person of interest in a federal murder probe.
The FBI said Poe was first spotted last Thursday morning at a hotel on the south edge of Madison. Officers then combed a three-square-mile area – and schools in Verona, Fitchburg, and Madison had lockdowns during the search.
Poe had been in the Dane County Jail since last Thursday evening, after a tipster saw him and a woman in a car that officers stopped on Highway 30 in Madison.
