RHINELANDER, WI (WXPR) - A Rhinelander teenager has been bound over for trial, charged with attempted first-degree homicide.
16 year old Michael Thimm took the stand at his preliminary hearing in Oneida County Circuit Court. Thimm was arrested and waived into adult court last December after an incident at his residence. Court documents indicate an argument led to the defendant allegedly trying to injure the two adults at the residence with a knife. One person received a knife wound in the incident. After hearing from Thimm and experts, Judge Patrick O'Melia found enough evidence of a crime to bind Thimm over for trial. Public Defender Maggie Hogan has moved to have Thimm's case put in juvenile court. That hearing is set for May 23.
A $15,000 cash bond was posted for Thimm in December.
