Gov. Scott Walker to write a book

MADISON, WI (WTAQ) - “Unintimidated.”

That’s the name of the new book Governor Scott Walker will write. His publisher confirmed the project Tuesday, after the National Review spilled the beans.

The Sentinel Imprint of Penguin Group said it negotiated the book deal, and it’s expected to come out late this year.

The full title is “Unintimidated: A Governor’s Story and a Nation’s Challenge.”

The Republican Walker plans to write in detail about the way he eliminated a $3.6 billion budget deficit – in part by virtually eliminating collective bargaining privileges for most public employee unions in Wisconsin.

The move sparked historic protests at the State Capitol – which have already been the subject of several books by media writers. It also made him a hero among Republicans from throughout the country, who gave him millions of dollars to survive a recall election last June.

The book will be co-authored by George W. Bush speech-writer Marc Thiessen. It’s another step toward raising Walker’s national profile, as he considers a run for president in 2016.
