MADISON (WRN)   The state Senate unanimously passing a 15 million dollar worker training bill on Tuesday. The measure aims to help Wisconsin’s aging workforce compete more effectively in the global market.

“This bill really doesn’t care if you’re a Democrat, it doesn’t care if you’re a Republican,” said Fond du Lac Republican Rick Gudex, the lead sponsor. “What this bill does do, it does care about, is workers searching for employment.”

The bill passed the Assembly 94-4 last week, and now heads to Governor Scott Walker, who proposed the legislation. The goal is to launch faster system to track jobs data and guide workers into in-demand professions, and provide worker training grants.
